Track Outage in California Impacting Train Operations in and out of San Diego

Date
Sep 30, 2022

A segment of our San Diego Subdivision at San Clemente, California, approximately 60 miles south of Los Angeles, has experienced significant weather-related erosion to the track structure. In order to address the stability of the track, traffic will be halted between Irvine and San Diego effective immediately for crews to conduct repairs.

BNSF has pre-positioned track equipment and materials needed, and crews will work to address the stability of the slope and safely restore operations as expeditiously as possible. There is no alternate route in the region, and at this time there is no estimate on when the track will be re-open to traffic.

We will continue to provide customers with further updates. As always, we thank you for your business and appreciate the opportunity to serve as your transportation service provider.
